Celtic Tree Month:

Here I will list all the Celtic Tree Months. Click on each to learn more about the month, it’s aspects, and how you can use this in your daily life.

Note: Yes I am aware that much of the research in the names of the Celtic Tree Month was perpetuated by Robert Graves in his book the White Goddess, there are many bones of contention about his historical accuracy or lack thereof, his own father Charles Graves discounted his information as a fabrication. Much of the Ogham's 25 letter names are similar or are the names of trees from the Celtic isles, it is natural to make the assumption that these are associated with each other. There is more questions than answers when it comes to the Celts and the Druids, as the path was a Oral tradition with very few written notes. Misinformation was perpetuated by the Romans when they attempted to conquer the Isles and by the Christians as they attempted to convert the 'pagans'. The information we have is an amalgamation of historical accuracy, oral tales from the descendants of the isles, cultural history, and what is known of the Druids, we know trees where Sacred, we know some of the Sacred Trees, Shrubs, and plants and much of the lore, the path of a Celtic Druid is not a clear one, but it is a living one, and traditions become so when many use them. I am not a re constructionist of the Celtic path, and therefore will take knowledge where it can be found, I like the concepts of the Tree months and so I ascribe to them, your path maybe different, but such is life. Every day new information is found by archaeologists which aides in re-writing what once thought to be hard facts, there are no hard facts, there are tales and glimpses which we all see through the spectacles of our generations glasses, cultural mores, lore, stereotypes of a culture, translations of other scientists, traditions and deeply held beliefs, this science itself is fluid and changing and so too is the path of the Druid.
