Book Review: Erotica: Lord Atwood's Lovers

Book Title: Lord Atwood's Lovers (goodreads)
Author: Eva Clancy
Cost: $ 2.39 Ebook
Pages: about 50
How I got it: ARC from Netgalley
My Rating:★★★★★
Synopsis:

To the rest of the ton, Lord and Lady Atwood seem to have the perfect marriage. They wed for love and their marriage bed doesn't lack for passion--but Imogen is haunted by the memory of her first marriage...while Charles harbors secret thoughts and desires he's been unable to confess to his wife.

Then Charles's ex-lover, Alexander Lambert, arrives in town, throwing Charles into a tailspin--and awakening a surprising attraction in Imogen. Now, both have to face the possibility that they may need more than just each other to be truly complete....
My Review:

Wowzer!!!! This is a short and HOT and I do mean HOT read. The story starts with the lovers Mr & Mrs Atwood and their clear love for each other, there is a sensual and smokey sex scene between them, including Lord Atwood's fantasy on-top of it and wooo!!

Then of course we get to the real good stuff with the couple and Alex*fans self*.  In less than fifty pages you get an amazingly sensual and fun read.  The author doesn't try to make it about more than what it is, a love triangle that goes ohh so right.  The fact that they were lovers before makes it even more and just a quickie and lend the ending some credibility.

My only complaint was in the beginning scene between husband and wife, she used the term 'slut' which jerked me out of the mood of the story. It's a personal dislike for that word and it's connotations, I wish it hadn't been included especially in that scene. Otherwise this story was great!!

It's a brief and steamy read, I highly suggest it.!!
Happy Reading my loves

Sacred Pampering Ritual: Personal Trainer

Yeah Yeah I know I know I haven't done one of these in forever, you want to know why?? Because I haven't done one of these for myself in FOREVER. can't share with you what i don't do, I mean I guess I could but then i wouldn't be authentic would I??  Anyway...
Guess what?? I signed up with a personal trainer *actually it's an old boyfriend (not that kind just a friend) who owns his own gym so he's doing me a favor*.  He's promised to kick my ass into shape no matter what, I have seen his clients I know he can do it. I'm going to be her (down below) as soon as he gets his hands on me, *crying in my water*,
How is this a part of Pampering yourself?? Well, taking care of your physical health matters just as much as the mental health stuff.  Most of the things I have shared before help to relax you and bring into a state of peace. For me * I used to be a gymnast and a track and field runner * for a long time exercising; the flex and stretching of muscle helped to calm me to bring my mind into focus, to help clarify a lot of things and helped me to learn a few things about myself. That space was an awesome space to be in, it allowed me a greater sense of peace than anything else I have tried since.  I need to get into better shape, not for anyone else but for me. and that is part of pampering myself.
Walking, running, yoga, belly dancing, these things help to connect us to our bodies, to clear our minds, sync up our systems and allow a rush of hormones that help to give us a natural high, not to mention the other benefits including higher sex drive *as a Scorpio I really don't need anymore hype but I'll take it*;lowered blood pressure and lower cholesterol, and increase in hormones which can help to regulate your emotional health as well as lower instances of depressive moods. A better body image helps to  life your mood as well. Look I'm not saying we should all try to be stick thin, but knowing you can run a mile or hell, just walk up the stairs without passing the hell out is the goal for some. For me It's the desire to once again tumble without the fear that I'm going to suffocate when my breasts follow the flow of gravity; I want to once again be in control of my body and have fun in it, not avoid the mirror because the image i have of myself and what's reflected no longer match up.

So that's you challenge my loves, confront your body image ideas, what is it that you consider sexy and healthy, what is the best weight for your body type if that seems too wrong, what would you consider you best health goal weight and shoot for that.  I will leave you with this video, share in the comments your thoughts ideas, and what have yous. And I will catch up with you later.

Follow Up & Follow Friday (5)

Welcome back to another week of Follow Up and Follow Friday. It's been awhile I know, I know many of  have noticed that I have begun to do more book reviews and mostly book posts for the past few weeks. It seems I have retreated to my books and I kinda needed that time away from everything else for a little bit. For those that are interested I'm sharing this week some of my favourite book blogs and bloggers for you to check out and follow.

One of my all time fave bloggers to check out weekly is I'm a Reader not a Writer. Each week there is a list of cheap or free books from Amazon for kindle and other book deals she links up and has a weekly blog hop of book giveaways and thinks related to books.  I love checking out this blog for that reason.

I'm not a huge YA book reader, I do enjoy some fo them though, and one of the best blogs to get information about them from is from Kristi over at the Story Siren. Each week she hosts the IMM challenge which I do on Sundays, she also has cover reveals, hundreds of books to pine for and an awesome amount of book giveaways.

You can mention book bloggers without mentioning Rachel of Parajunkee's Views. She does mostly paranormal books and has an awesome collection that she shows us sometimes. I love her witty reviews and her honest views on so many different topics. Plus she's from New Orleans, and she always has a new color in her hair. How awesome is that??

These are just a few, I have hundreds of book bloggy friends that I follow each day, but for today three is enough.

This has been a pretty busy week. I have managed to finish a few books including several ARCs and have begun to clean out so many more. I have like a few (close to 30) reviews to post and I just need to sit down and do them. But here are the stats so far:

Book Review: Dark Celebration

Book Title: Dark Celebration
Author: Christine Feehan
Publisher: Jove Novel
Cost: $7.99
Pages: 298
How I got it: PaperBackswap
My Rating:★★★☆☆
Synopsis:
After centuries as the prince of the Carpathians, Mikhail Dubrinsky fears he can't protect his people for long from their greatest threat: the extinction of their species at the hands of their immortal enemies--who are devising a scheme to slaughter Carpathian females. But even with his own lifemate, Raven, and their daughter, Savannah, vulnerable to the encroaching evil, Mikhail's hope is not lost.
My Review:
This is the reunion book of the series, it's the first time in the series that all the major characters are together, it also includes the start of Skyler's story with Dimitri that everyone ahs been talking about.  It's a pretty amazing to read the follow up to everyone's story and fo course see the beginning of MaryAnn's story (FINALLY a Black character in this series).  Mikhail is trying to bring the ravaged pieces of his people back together by having them embrace the celebrations of their human counterparts.  It's a chance for the Carpathian men to gather and meet all that they are risking their lives for: their Prince, their people  & to see the hope of those who have found their mates.  The awakening Ancients also get a chance to swear alligiance to Mikhail.

Personally I thought it was stupid of them to be 'cooking' when they can't really eat it anyway, just a waste of resources. Most of the story if seen through the eyes of Mikhail as he travels to each of the couples, then they pick up the story and go from there sharing and following up on things that have happened since their stories.  The weaving of the different stories together was pretty amazing.

I did however a few things that grated the nerves:
1) Mikhail and Gregori's discussion where they stated that the Carpathian Earth Healer walked with her head unbowed, as if women shouldn't be proud as well.
2) Page 192 " If I had my way,  would choose a time in history when I could simply lock you up, keep you safe and to myself, never share you" ~ Rafael  ~~~Let me just say right now, that's not sexy at all, nope not at all.
3)The deleted scenes, especially the one of Skyler and Dimitri, let me just say, it's one thing if the female  characters are of age and are taking on these millennia old men, it's a whole other thing for it to be Sjyler, who we know is underage and is a survivor of sexual abuse. Give her time to grow the heck up, I mean she does discuss this in the book, they even talk about the fact that she shouldn't have been able to call to his soul until she was of age, and Dimitri talks about how he felt her when she was a child and whenever he tried to find her to help her she hid herself from him, cool I get it, but she's still a child and writing that into the story is just kinda scivvy. If you deleted it because it didn't fit; why put it in. It really just screamed pedophile to me, especially because she states she's too young to be his lifemate, then she is too young to be a sexual being.

Since I have already read Razvan's story before this, I kept feeling bad for him every time they talked down about him because I just wouldn't understand why no one ever thought if Xavier would go to war by killing a mated pair why they didn't didn't think maybe just maybe Razvan was a victim as well?? It was just easier to blame him and have someone they would hate than to really examine their own actions, and what they had done and didn't do that allowed Xavier such free reign for years.

All in all, the book was actually was pretty good. Short compared to the others, but still good.  It was awesome to have a few loose ends tied up in this book, and have new threats pulled that will show us some of the upcoming stories. So far I have loved many of the books and been intrigued by the story of the people of the Carpathian world. I can't wait to read the ones I have missed.
Happy Reading

Buddhist meditation and the Internet: Joanne Miller
We now know that people are trying to reproduce online much of what they do offline. So why is it that mediation is only a very small part of Buddhist Internet activity? How can this be so when the Internet is profoundly intertwined with our everyday lives and offers us so many religious possibilities? Buddhist Meditation and the Internet: Practices and Possibilities looks at what happens to meditation when it goes online by examining virtual meditators, worlds, iPad apps, real-time synchronous ‘sits’, and cross-hemisphere retreats. It paints an intriguing picture about the extent to which we can meditate without a body -- or through a virtual one.
