In My Mailbox (10)

Welcome back to another week of IMM, which is hosted by Kristi over at The Story Siren. It's a weekly meme with the goal of showcasing books that have made their way into your home via: the internet, the post, bookswaps, giveaways, or those that you have purchased.  It allows you to show off these books even if you never get to read them or review them but still wish for your bloggie friends to see them.

I was good again this week, I managed to make it to the library and back without additional books. YAY for me, ( it was soo hard, I literally ran in threw my books in the return bin and ran out, I didn't look anywhere else and didn't stop for more than the five minutes it took to dump the books).

Even though I was good I still got sucked into buying two books and swapped two more.  The first one I received a teaser via Kindle which I didn't realize wasn't the full adventures, and by then I was way to curious to pass up the rest of the story so I bought it. And of course my Doubleday books just had to be ordered, both are by authors I love and just know I couldn't pass them up.

The teaser's name was Shaken & Stirred by Sable Jordan, the character Kizzie was awesome so when I realized it extended into another novel i had to get it:
Wallbanger
A relic from the Cold War that shouldn’t even exist….
After being Shaken and Stirred, secret agent Kizzie Baldwin is again thrust into a world she knows nothing about, and learning on the fly from a teacher she can’t trust. The objective is the same: secure Intel on Formula 3-19. But to do that, she has to give the nefarious Dom, Xander Duquesne, exactly what he wants first.
He’s still not her Master.
But she will call him ‘Sir’!
I can't wait to dive into this one!!!
I also got Dreaming by Jill Barnett,
In love with Richard Lennox, Earl of Downe, since childhood, Letitia Hornsby pursues him relentlessly. To her, he is a gift from God; to him, she is a hellion.
I once owned and loved the Bewitching, and when I saw it was for free on Kindle I downloaded it (Ok I'll be honest I downloaded it, started to read then realized I had already read this, looked up the original covers and sure enough it was a book I had already read). Dreaming was on sale for $1.99 so I purchased it. Can't wait to dive into this one either

From Paperback Bookswap I received:
Dark Demon by Christine Feehan
For as long as she can remember, Natalya has been fighting demons: first in the form of childhood nightmares, then later, immortal creatures that kill and prey on the innocent—including her own twin brother. Whether Carpathian or vampire, she slays those who murder by night, and has no equal—until she is seduced by the very thing she considers her enemy…A Carpathian who has seen nearly everything in his endless existence, Vikirnoff didn’t think he could be surprised anymore—until he faces a woman who rivals him as a vampire hunter. A formidable and gifted warrior in her own right, Natalya has a nature that is strangely familiar—yet alien—to his own. Who is this mysterious female who fears no one—not even him? Natalya could be the key to the survival of the Carpathians, but all Vikirnoff is certain of is that she is the key to his heart and soul…
I also got :
Dark Celebration by Christine Feehan
After centuries as the Prince of the Carpathians Mikhail Dubrinsky fears he can’t protect them for long from their greatest threat: the extinction of their species- a fate that has become the wicked prayer of his enemies. To ensure it, they are devising a scheme to slaughter Carpathian females. But even with his own lifemate, Raven, and their daughter, Savannah, vulnerable to the encroaching evil, Mikhail's hope is not lost...In this desperate season, Carpathians from around the world are gathering to join their strengths, their souls, and their powers to bring light to the darkness. But so too are their adversaries uniting – hunters, vampires, demons, and betrayers – bringing untold dangers into the fold of the Carpathian people.
I'm almost done with the Dark Series YAYYAY. Only seven more books to go!!!

From Doubleday I received:
Catherine Anderson's The Lucky Penny, this premise just seemed too funny and I needed to know what happened.
To support her orphaned niece, impoverished Brianna O'Keefe accepts work with a Colorado rancher. To guard herself from unwanted attention, she resorts to a harmless little lie: that she's married to a Denver gold miner named David Paxton. But when her "husband" shows up, Brianna is stunned-not the least by her desire.
Doesn't that sound awesome??? Then of course I got one that was a guaranteed laugh:
I've got your number by Sophie Kinsella.
I have a few of her books and she was very quirky, almost Bridget Jones with her adventures, so I got this one because of past experience, but the story and a few reviews I have seen make it sound like a good read.
I've lost it. The only thing in the world I wasn't supposed to lose. My engagement ring. It's been in Magnus's family for three generations. And now, the very same day his parents are coming, I've lost it. The very same day. Do not hyperventilate Poppy. Stay positive!!
Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry the ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but in one afternoon her 'happy ever after' begins to fall apart. Not only has she lost her engagement ring but in the panic that followed, she has now lost her phone. As she paces shakily round the hotel foyer she spots an abandoned phone in a bin. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfect!
What did you get in your mailbox this week?? Something fun? exciting?? Share please and I will hop on over.

Happy reading

  5. LOL I love the image of someone running into a library with their eyes closed, dumping the books and then running out! Awesome way to avoid stacking up the TBR pile!
