21 days if Yule: day 11 Who Celebrates Yule

Yule or Jul, or celebration of the sun is as old as human celebration.  Within all religions, and all traditions of the agrarian societies their is a deeper connection to the rhythm of the seasons, hence the celebration of the returning sun.
Although not all the societies that celebrate call the season Yule, many have celebrations that line up with the return of the sun or the return of the light or the birth of a Child of Wonder.


The term Yule is derived from Jul is the term from the Germanic people who were later converted to the christian religion and brought their traditions with them. There are traditions of sun worship from China, Taiwan,, Jerusalem, in the Americas and in Egypt.
