Book Review

Today's author :Karen Marie Moning.

If I didn't know better i would think Ms Moning is a sidhe seer ( maybe she is maybe she isn't). Dayuum.... these Fae are smoking. her writing is off the charts, the story lines are fresh and great and the men... too sexy for their own good. i would trade spaces with a lot of these female characters in a heartbeat. There are Fae's acting badly, acting sexy, and women getting down and falling in love all over the place. These stories all interact in some way or another, either we see characters from past books getting their own books, or they make appearances throughout the series, or they are mentioned. It gives the reader a sense of continuity. even though each book stands alone.

There are several books in the Sidhe/Highland Series:

Beyond the Highland Mist

He was known throughout the kingdom as Hawk, legendary predator of the battlefield and the boudoir. No woman could refuse his touch, but no woman ever stirred his heart—until a vengeful fairy tumbled Adrienne de Simone out of modern-day Seattle and into medieval Scotland. Captive in a century not her own, entirely too bold, too outspoken, she was an irresistible challenge to the sixteenth-century rogue. Coerced into a marriage with Hawk, Adrienne vowed to keep him at arm's length—but his sweet seduction played havoc with her resolve."

Hmmm how to write my feelings about this one..... Aha I know... where can i sign up to be sent back to him??  Adrienne gets sent back in time as a punishment not for Hawk but for the Fae Queen who (Goddess forbid) compared the mare mortal man to a Sidhe, and the Sidhe didn't like it (what Sidhe warrior would?). And now ladies and gents let the games begin. I fell deeply madly in love with said Fae and boy was I happy to find out he had is own book. (this is one of the few books in my collection that is showing the wear and tear of too many readings, because Goddess alive I could literally feel him through the pages of the book.) Meet dear readers: Adam Black (not his real name)

"BEWARE: lethally seductive alpha male of immense strength and dark eroticism, do not look at him. Do not touch him. Do not be tempted. Do not be seduced.
With his long, black hair and dark, mesmerizing eyes, Adam Black is Trouble with a capital T. Immortal, arrogant, and intensely sensual, he is the consummate seducer, free to roam across time and continents in pursuit of his insatiable desires."

Ahhh Sex personified, man oh man the author must have had a man in mind when she wrote this one because WOW, you can feel him coming off the page. Her is just so soo... sexii (yes He needs the double "ii's"). This Sidhe gets himself into a whole slew of trouble with the Queen of the Fae (never a good idea) and for his trouble? Is made mortal!!!  In walks Sidhe seer Gabrielle O’Callaghan, who does her best not to let the Fae be aware that she can see them ( as the Fae are notorious for snatching Sidhe-seers this is smart) and she is the key to his survival. I can't explain how well written this book is, how you get drawn into their world from the very first typed word.  This book is a burn rubber to get it, don't put it down til your finished kinda book. I highly recommend this one. Immortal Highlander
Kiss of a Highlander
"A laird trapped between centuries...
Enchanted by a powerful spell, Highland laird Drustan MacKeltar slumbered for nearly five centuries hidden deep in a cave, until an unlikely savior awakened him. The enticing lass who dressed and spoke like no woman he’d ever known was from his distant future, where crumbled ruins were all that remained of his vanished world. Drustan knew he had to return to his own century if he was to save his people from a terrible fate. And he needed the bewitching woman by his side....

A woman changed forever in his arms..."
Can someone point out on a map of Scotland just exactly where I can find me one of these?? Hot-damn this girl is lucky, Most people would find bones (or dust) she finds a smoking hot man.  A Druid who would do anything to keep her by his side, and protect his family. (Can't fault a man with honor and loyalty)
"If aught must be lost, 'twill be my honor for yours.
If one must be forsaken,'twill be my soul for yours.
Should death come anon, 'twill be my life for yours.
I am Given."
(Druid Wedding Vows Drustan stated)
Can I please state that I love these vows so very much, that when i do get married I believe I will use them (if you don't mind Karen Marie Moning).

Spell of the Highlander:
"Jessi St. James has got to get a life. Too many hours studying ancient artifacts has given the hardworking archaeology student a bad case of sex on the brain. So she figures she must be dreaming when she spies a gorgeous half-naked man staring out at her from inside the silvery glass of an ancient mirror. But when a split-second decision saves her from a terrifying attempt on her life, Jessi suddenly finds herself confronting six and a half feet of smoldering, insatiable alpha male."

What a mere thirteen hundred years?? Well, when you spend it trapped in a glass watching the world go by? Apparently quite a bit. But when that entrapment means meeting the woman of your dreams? Yeah I think he would allow the be-spelling again. This book also bring back some characters from other books, while constituting the story of the Druids and their magick. It, like all the others in this series, is a don't put down until your done, kind of book, even now when I was re-reading it, i kept finding things (I would swear on my Chalice) wasn't there before. the characters are so well written and the magick can be felt so strongly.

It is evident that Ms Moning enjoyed writing her books, as it comes through the pages well. And I have enjoyed reading them all, but i figure this enough smoking hot sidhe for one post.

Enjoy my loves
